Flipkart, a Walmart owned e-commerce giant, just launched the first Nokia branded smart TV in the Indian Market. The smart TV has been designed as part of a strategic partnership with Nokia and is dubbed ‘Nokia 55CAUHDN’. The smart TV boasts some impressive specifications and is designed to deliver top-notch audio and video quality.

Design and Display

Design-wise, the TV features extremely thin bezels on all three sides, however, the chin is considerably thick. The Nokia 55CAUHDN also comes with an unconventional looking stand in case you don’t want to mount the TV on a wall.
As far as the display is concerned, the smart TV is built around a 55-inch LCD panel featuring 4K UHD resolution, 1200:1 contrast ratio, 178-degree viewing angles, 400 nits peak brightness and 60Hz refresh rate. The display also supports a wide color gamut, HDR and Dolby Vision support. However, we are pretty skeptical about the quality of HDR since the TV merely provides 400 nits of brightness and lacks full-array local dimming support.

Internals

The smart TV is powered by a quad-core SoC that features 4x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1GHz and is backed by a Mali-450 GPU. As for memory, the smart TV is equipped with 2.25 GB RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage. Along with this, the Nokia 55CAUHDN also comes with support for Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi.
For connectivity, the smart TV features 3x HDMI ports and 2x USB ports. It runs on Android TV 9.0 with Netflix, YouTube and Hotstar applications pre-installed.
The TV will be available for sale by 10th December on Flipkart at a $589 price tag.
