Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to visit Malaysia within the next few weeks, diplomatic sources said on Tuesday.
As per sources, the foreign office is finalizing the dates for a visit, and consultations between the two countries are ongoing in this regard.

The source said that the visit is most likely on 31st January.
The premier will hold a one-on-one meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohamad during the visit. The two dignitaries will discuss bilateral issues as well as the regional situation.

Experts believe that the visit is a damage control exercise by Pakistan after PM Khan’s withdrawal from Kuala Lampur Summit, which took place between 18 and 21 December in the Malaysian capital.
Pakistan’s step back was significant because PM Imran Khan was one of the prime movers of the summit, along with PM Mahathir Mohamad and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.
