Happy new year! As we make plans for 2023, we thought the start of the new year would be a great time to reflect on the year gone by. It was a huge year at the Space Station, so here’s a recap of all the amazing things that happened in the last 12 months with the SadaPay 2022 in Review |
We’re pretty sure you heard about this already, but WE GOT OUR LICENSE! 2022 started with us still in our pilot phase, answering the two questions that dominated our inbox: “Why am I still on a waitlist and when will I get my card?!” Well a truly long awaited moment arrived in April when we got our EMI license from the State Bank We’ve been introducing thousands of people to money made simple each day ever since!
While there’s still a waitlist, it’s now far smaller than it was back in April, meaning our users can get their hands on a card much quicker. The SadaFam has grown many times over since then, and we couldn’t be happier to have all of you onboard

We launched some much awaited features At SadaPay we’re building an app that does away with the complexities of banking, but we’re doing so guided by our community. Getting the license was a huge moment, but our attention quickly turned to rolling out some features you guys had been asking about frequently. We started off with mobile top-ups and bill payments
You can now pay almost 1000 billers and add credit for prepaid numbers on all major networks directly from the app That wasn’t all though. We heard you when it came to the troublesome process for increasing your wallet limit. This is why we also rolled out the biometric verification feature! Now all you need to do is head to the “more” section of the app and tap on the “increase my limit” button to do so in a matter of seconds If your incoming limit is still at 50k, go check it out right now. No really - we’ll wait for you to get back.
Now that you can receive up to 200k, it’s time to talk about money requests. You can request money from anyone using SadaPay using the Send and Request button of the app. All they have to do is tap on the “accept” button, and you’ll receive the amount. It’s that simple We also thought about friends who “forget” to send you what’s owed, which is why if you’ve requested money from someone, they’ll be able to see this in the “Money Requests” section in the Payments tab until they accept or decline it. If you’re still waiting on your friends to pay for that pizza you shared, try sending them a money request instead of another WhatsApp message

Since you’ve made it this far, let’s discuss some numbers - Our card was used in 99 countries! From New York to Auckland, whether in black or teal and peach, we joined you guys on a number of trips, and were glad to be your travel partners
- You paid more than 100,000 merchants, making good use of the fact that our card works everywhere Mastercard is accepted
- You spent the most on PUBG, Foodpanda, AliExpress, and Netflix
- We saved our SadaFam almost Rs 920 million in ATM withdrawal, international transaction, local transfer and card issuance fees over the course of the year! When we say “goodbye bank fees” we mean it
|
And we didn’t forget about our freelancers We know getting paid is a huge hassle for our freelance community. We’ve been working on a solution for them to receive payments from abroad directly into their SadaPay accounts. We’ve started to gradually invite members of the SadaFam for the testing of our business account as we build it. We hope to share more updates about this in the months that follow
2022 was a massive year filled with many highs, and none of it would’ve been possible without all of you In 2023 we’re continuing work on making money so simple, any other way becomes unthinkable. As usual, we can’t wait for all of you to see what we’ve got in store!
