Portugal launched a Job seeker visa. The Visa has been introduced to cover the lobar shortage and will be issued at the Portuguese consulate abroad. The validity of the Visa is 120 days further extended to 60 days concerning an able residency permit subject to a legitimate valid employment contract after entering the country.               (PRESENTATION CLICK HERE) 

There are no detailed qualifications and experiences highlighted yet. Concerning applying for the Visa, Streamline the visa procedures for issuing at the consulate section soon. This visa program offers the privilege of requesting a residence permit after a working relationship has been set up and standardised during that period. In addition, there are some conditions for applying for this Visa as well mentioned below.

  • The Visa will only be approved if the person has not obtained an entry restriction into the country or another Member State of the European Union (EU).

  •   It will also be compulsory for the worker to have a ticket back to their home country (in case he cannot get a job) and financial resources, called means of subsistence.

  • Based on this document, the applicant can only search for job opportunities in Portugal and not for jobs in other Schengen countries.

  • Job Seeker Visa holders will only be able to enter Portuguese territory once, so it will not be possible to travel abroad during the initial 120 days or the remaining 60 days if an extension is requested.

Step-1 

Online registration with IEFP: The Institute for Employment and Vocational Training is a Portuguese public employment service. It functions under the Employment and Social Security department, which is accountable for executing the Government's employment and vocational training policies determined and endorsed by the Government. The applicant must declare expressions of interest for IEFP if he wants to apply job seeking a visa to Portugal. Interested candidates fill out online information about their experiences and qualifications with the interest of the area willing to join Portugal.

  • Submission of visa application National D-Visa

The visa application must be with the appropriate documents for granting a visa. Failure to prepare documents and correct application forms, in addition to the falsification of documents submission, results come visa refusal.

  • Visa decisions will take 30 to 90 days, depending on the consulate.
