Australia Awards Scholarships – a Lucky Pass to an Australian University

This aspiration can be quite realistic thanks to the Australia Awards Scholarships which the DFAT of Australia distributes to citizens of multiple countries who are eager to study in Australia. Who can apply?

There are several criteria the applicants must comply with to qualify for these scholarships. They must be at least 18-year-old citizens of a country which takes part in this program and residing there, not have Australian citizenship or permanent residency, be devoid of criminal record, meet the criteria of the Program Area, be eligible for a student visa, meet the requirements of admission to the institution they aim to study at, and apply for a scholarship to do a course which is not lower than their current academic level.

Language requirements

Relevant knowledge of English is a mandatory requirement for applying for this scholarship. In case English is the first language of the applicant or they have been educated in English, they will meet the language requirement of DFAT to get an Australia Awards Scholarship. Otherwise, the applicants must provide IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic exam certificates prior to starting their approved study course.


The present Scholarship program has rather wide coverage and normally provides for the fee of the whole tuition, return airline ticket, a one-time payment for accommodation fees, a fortnightly allowance, IAP, health insurance for foreign students, fees for learning English (if needed), additional academic assistance and fieldwork.
